Gyuto Vajrayana Center, San Jose, CA
The Gyuto Vajrayana Center was founded to address the spiritual, cultural, and philosophical needs of the community of Tibetan refugees residing in the San Jose/San Francisco area. Without its programs and offerings, this community’s culture and practices would have no home. The center offers services such as programs for the elderly and children, as well as teachings and trainings in meditation and Dharma, which are not only for Tibetans and Buddhists but are open to everyone. It also provides assistance to recent Tibetan refugees and immigrants, including translation services, consular errands, and other official business help.

Gyuto Monastery Project
The Gyuto monks of San Jose have initiated the process of creating both a monastery and a community center. These facilities will compromise a place where Tibetans young and old can practice together, eat together, celebrate holidays, and continue the traditions and rituals that are the central hub of their culture. This monastery and community center will not only host Tibetans, but will be a place where people of all backgrounds and philosophies can come together to worship and practice in their own way, allowing the light and power of those positive practices to uplift and support the atmosphere of the area’s whole community.
